Get to know me

I’m Anaïs Lewett, a writer exploring the world through different lenses of storytelling. My train of life has carried me from my roots in Marin County, California, to the peaks of Colorado, to a seaside town in Basque Country (France), where I’m currently based.

I began my career in journalism, then veered into the legal field, and am now focused on producing creative copy for various outlets. Each chapter clarified a different lens: journalism taught me curiosity and deadlines, legal work trained me in clarity and structure, and today I channel both into creative strategy.

Outside of client work, I’m a DJ with a love for rhythm and atmosphere. Another form of storytelling, just without the paragraph breaks. I’m endlessly curious about current events, cultural shifts, and all the different threads that connect history to the present moment.

I believe good writing should feel like good music: intentional, textured, free-flowing, and spellbinding.

I’m a lover of historical fiction pieces, hikes that last a little too long, and the consumption of wine and smelly cheeses - unavoidable byproduct of growing up French-American.
